Meaning of “One Margarita (Margarita Song)” by That Chick Angel, Casa Di & Steve Terrell

The day and age we currently live in is such that even non-celebrities are in a position to drop hit songs.

Actually, as of this writing a couple of months after the release of “One Margarita” on 31 May 2023, That Chick Angel has 140,000 subscribers on YouTube and approximately 450,000 followers on TikTok which, according to some standards, constitutes a celebrity following.

But she doesn’t have mainstream notoriety, nor is she a professional musician per se. Rather, Angel’s YouTube channel is described as being “dedicated to showing the authenticity of motherhood and womanhood”, with the focus being on life with her four sons. But to note, according to iMDb she has a degree in theatre, another in acting and as such has been involved in some Hollywood productions, including having a recurring role during the late aughts on the television series ER.

As for Casa Di and Steve Terrell, they are noted as being actual musicians. One of the former’s most notable achievement was producing Chief Keef’s 2012 track “Understand Me”. But the latter doesn’t have any production credits under his belt besides “One Margarita” and its remix, which Saucy Santana participated on.

Credits

The credited writers of the original version of “One Margarita” are That Chick Angel, Steve Terrell and Casa Di.

Steve and Casa jumped on the track after the “One Margarita” freestyle Angel dropped promptly proceeded to gain momentum. In other words, they gave it an original instrumental, as the one she previously used was derived from a 2002 song by Clipse titled “Grindin’”. That made “One Margarita” official enough to upload unto sites like Spotify and Apple Music.

Furthermore, this tune has been supported by the likes of Lizzo, who reportedly dubbed it “the song of summer”, as well as Cindy Crawford, who appeared on the music video to the remix, which was directed by Jake Wilson.

One Margarita (Margarita Song)

The Lyrics of “One Margarita (Margarita Song)”

This song has an unusual origin story in that its theme and titular statement was actually derived from a sermon by a Christian preacher named Sister Cindy which she delivered on a university campus.

On the subject of abstinence, she called out the type of woman who “if you buy her one margarita, she will spread her legs”. In other words, Cindy was criticizing loose women. And it just so happened that her clip went viral and in the process caught the attention of That Chick Angel, who used the inspiration to drop an impromptu freestyle in response, which then spawned this hit.

So it can be said that Angel is mocking or parodying Cindy’s stance. The vocalist does so by presenting herself as the type of woman who indeed if intoxicated will give up the *ss. Or as stated, if you give Angel “one margarita”, she will in fact ‘open her legs’. “Two margaritas” will earn “you some head”, i.e. f*ll*tio. With “three margaritas” she’s down to put it in her holy part, as in engage in actual sex.

“Give me onе margarita, I’ma open my legs
Give mе two margaritas, I’ma give you some head”

At the point of ingesting “four margaritas”, she’s willing to be the recipient of sex of the a**l variety.  And once the vocalist gets to five margaritas, which is notably beyond the threshold of what it takes to get thoroughly boozed off of that cocktail, she’s then ready to “put it in your bun”.

So obviously, Angel isn’t the type of woman to let motherhood deter her from freely expressing herself sexually.

The sole actual verse of One Margarita verifies that this is in fact a sex song and furthermore one in which the romantic interest of the vocalist is a male. And whereas the lyrics are obviously raunchy, what the thesis sentiment points to, according to the verse, is Angel’s desire to give her man an unforgettable night in the bedroom.

And by the looks of things, besides ingesting margaritas, dining at a Mexican restaurant also gets her hot. Or as the singer more specifically states, ‘tortilla chips… give her WAP’ as in, more simply put, making That Chick’s holy part wet.

About “One Margarita (Margarita Song) [Saucy Remix]”

As noted earlier, this song proved popular enough to garner a remix – released on 28 July 2023 – complete with the lyrical contributions of Saucy Santana, who is also credited as a co-writer. Saucy Santana is an openly-gay hip-hop artist who thus far has one studio album under his belt, that being 2021’s “Keep It Playa”.

And in the song he depicts himself as “a bad b*tch”, as well as alluding to being a club-based stripper. And in his quest for “a big d*ck n*gga and a bankroll”, he accordingly has learned how to spot ‘broke n*ggas’ and avoid them accordingly.

As for Cindy Crawford, whom many readers would recognize as being an A-list model from the late 20th century, she uses her appearance in the video to replicate one of her best-known works, which was a commercial she starred in that aired in 1992 on behalf of Pepsi. But instead of promoting Pepsi, this time around Cindy bigs up Casamijos, which is a brand of tequila that was co-founded by her husband, Rande Gerber, in 2013.

Also present in the video is a TikToker by the name of Terri Joe who apparently specializes in queer content, and the clip features product placements for BlendJet, a brand of portable blenders.
