“Fashion Week” by Steel Banglez (Ft. MoStack and AJ Tracey)

“Fashion Week” isn’t really meant to serve any specific purpose outside of DJ Steel Banglez putting fellow UK talents MoStack and AJ Tracey on display. In other words, the raps aren’t particularly innovative in terms of content but rather are intended to display the lyrical skills of the artists for the enjoyment of the fans. Thus we have MoStack and AJ Tracey sticking to standard popular hip-hop themes – which are women, cash flow and abilities to deal with opps violently if necessary – albeit from an English perspective.

Fashion Week

The chorus is centered on the artist (specifically AJ Tracey) attending Paris Fashion Week, dipped out, with a very-beautiful girl in his arm. MoStack’s verse starts off with him stating a general distrust of women and then bragging about his wealth while dissing others who cannot keep up financially. Afterwards the most-notable parts of his section is Stack’s claiming that he has affairs with “ugly” women as well as warning potential opponents that they really “don’t want beef”.

AJ Tracey’s verse is more or less the same, with the main difference being that it focuses largely on presumably the same woman who he is attending Paris Fashion Week with. In addition to being iced out himself, AJ is treating the shorty well, including giving her permission to “get up in (the) Royce”. He also gives us a little bit of insight into her personality, such as the drinks she enjoys. And while he does warn rivals against initiating beef, overall he’s more along the lines of opps being unable to keep up with him financially more than anything else.
