“Going Broke” by Logan Paul
If you never heard of Logan Paul the music artist, that is because he is better known as an internet personality (i.e. YouTuber), even though he’s dropped a couple of tunes in the past. He is also known for having a big mouth shall we say, and has stepped in the ring with a famous rival in the past. Well as of the release of “Going Broke”, his adversary is actually former professional athlete-turned-musician Antonio Brown. And the beef between Paul and Brown is apparently real to the point that it seems only a matter of time before they step into the ring themselves.
Now the last time Logan Paul fought with a celebrity – a fellow YouTube celebrity named KSI – it is estimated that he took home well over one-million dollars. So let’s say that he has a lot to gain from actually baiting Antonio Brown into fight him. And baiting him he is, as despite its comedic elements this song (“Going Broke”) reads as the type of personal diss track which more established rappers are known for. For instance, at one point Logan refers to Antonio as a “b****”. And he also makes fun of the fact that Brown’s NFL “career fell apart” just a short time ago.
Song’s Title
Indeed the title of this track is actually mocking a song Antonio released just a month prior entitled “Whole Lotta Money”. And it seems that the fundamental logic Logan Paul is operating on is since Brown is no longer playing in the NFL, he’s not rich but in contrast is “going broke”. Amidst it all he also references the fact that Mr. Brown has had a well-publicized battles with his ex. So again, it’s like Logan Paul is going for the jugular. And we’ll see if this all plays out the way he apparently intends it to, with Antonio Brown actually getting angry to the point that he responds. And then we, the audience, will have a legitimate beef on our hands, which is likely to result in Logan Paul cashing another phat paycheck.
Origin of Beef between Antonio Brown and Logan Paul
The war of fighting words between Logan Paul and Antonio Brown dates back to early January, 2020. Its true genesis can be traced to Paul stating that he wanted ‘f up’ Antonio back in December of 2019. And apparently Logan will get the chance he desires, as in the aftermath of “Going Broke” Antonio has responded, amongst other things, “Let’s just fight”.
