“Shotz Fired” by Bonez MC

Bonez MC is recognized as one of the premiere rappers from Germany, so any track he drops is going to get noticed by the public. However, the main reason “Shotz Fired” seems to be making headlines is due to accusations of it containing homophobic language, despite Bonez already being known for such controversial lyricism. Or stated differently, he’s adopted a straight up I-don’t-give-AF attitude on this track. And seemingly the reason he dropped the aforementioned lyrics in the first place has something to do with an incident in which a police officer or some other guy touched his genitals in a way which made him uncomfortable.

And overall, as the title implies, “Shotz Fired”, as in a reference to a gun being discharged, runs along the lines of being a standard macho, street-based rap song. For instance, in the first verse the rapper brags, quite graphically, about his bedroom prowess. And in the second he alludes to himself being some type of thuggish drug dealer, even dropping some patois in that regard along the way. In fact the music video to this track was filmed in the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago), thus giving this entire work more of an authentic “bad man ting” feel.

So conclusively, “Shotz Fired” is that type of song that any fan of gangsta rap should be able to appreciate.

Bonez MC wrote “Shotz Fired”. It was subsequently produced by a production duo known as The Cratez.

The 187 Street Gang, a rap crew and record label from Hamburg, released “Shotz Fired” on 10 March 2020.
