Marian Hill is an electronic and synthpop duo from the United States consisting of singer Samantha Gongol and music producer Jeremy Lloyd. The duo, which was formed in 2013 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, released their debut EP titled Play in 2013. The duo gained international stardom with the release of their debut album in 2016. The album produced their hit single Down, which peaked at the 21st position on the Billboard 100.

- According to the duo, their name “Marian Hill” was derived from two of the characters from the award-winning musical The Music Man. The characters are Marian Paroo, a librarian and piano teacher and Professor Harold Hill, a con man and salesman.
- The duo was started in 2013 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Samantha and Jeremy met each other for the first time at the Haverford High School located in Haverford Township in Pennsylvania.
- The first song Samantha and Jeremy ever wrote together was the song “Whisky”.
- Jeremy attended Yale University where he read Music Theatre, whereas Samantha attended New York University and studied Music Business.
- Both Samantha and Jeremy were born in Pennsylvania.
- The duo made their first television appearance on the popular late-night show The Late Late Show with James Corden on 14th, September 2015 and performed their single One Time.
- The duo’s first single to make it into the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 was their 2016 sleeper hit Down.
