“Got That Boom” by Secret Number
Simply put, this is a dance song. Its unique angle features the girls also espousing an ideology akin to following the dictates of your heart. So putting those two idea together, it can be interpreted that they encouraging the audience to dance with fervor. Indeed with this being K-pop, even in a club tune there is expected to be some type of philosophy woven therein. And in this case it is one which is quite common to the genre, wherein the singers espouse something like a free-spirited, passionate lifestyle.
Meanwhile whereas “that boom” can mean different things in different slang circles, in this case it is clearly alluding to the power of the music.
This is the title track from a two-song EP that Secret Number, a girl group from South Korea, dropped on 4 November 2020.
