Friendship holds a very-special place in our lives. Some of us, even from a young age, find ourselves closer to our buddies than we are to our own family members. And as we age, our faithful companions become even more vital to our emotional well-being.  Indeed recent studies have revealed that many, if not most people are closer than their BFF than they are to their spouse. However, we, not being poetically-inclined, may not know the best words to relay the appropriate feelings to our besties. But thankfully some of our favorite musicians have been able to encapsulate such emotions in song.

This song by Brandy was written by Keith Crouch and Glenn McKinney. The track was released in 1995 on herself titled album ‘Brandy’. This song, whose central theme is on great friendship, sees Brandy taking about the love and support she gets from her friend and promises to be there for her too.

Young Thug released the track ‘Best Friend’ as part of his ‘ Slime Season ‘ album in 2015. When one listens to the song and pays attention to it, they realize that he is explaining that he does not have anyone apart from himself to call best friend.
