And from the onset, Nessa gets straight to the point by giving us details of the F’ed-up relationship she has with the addressee. For instance, he is presented as being verbally abusive and not only that but also the type who truly doesn’t care how she feels afterwards. Or as the vocalist perceives it, this individual is treating her like a “toy” as opposed to an actual human being.
So now Barrett is dumping him and “moving on”, even if internally she doesn’t really feel prepared to do so. And in response to being dumped, the addressee has gone about slandering her name. But alas, the vocalist too is “petty as f–k”. So instead of just going her way, she has decided to leave her own lasting impression upon his life.
And the way she does so is by first ‘hoping that never falls in love again’. Additionally, she desires for him to be deserted by his friends. But as for that latter wish, it isn’t one that she is just making willy-nilly. Rather she is hoping that his buddies come to realize just how grimy the addressee truly is.
And if you think these ill feelings are something she will get over in the near future, just being the temporary after-emotions of a tumultuous breakup, no dear reader, that does not appear to be the case. For the singer further hopes that the addressee remains “so f–king miserable” until the day of his death, at whatever point that may be in the future.

So of course we are left wondering why all of this hostility? Well in the second verse Nessa goes on to further expound why she hates him so much. And the way her description reads, most simply put, is that he’s some type of a major A-hole.
And you know how they say no one knows you better than your significant other? Well this is apparently a personality flaw she’s privy to that others have yet to pick up on. Indeed it is such that if she wanted to, she could publicize all of the addressee’s dirty secrets and completely spoil his name.
But she won’t, instead being confident that karma will catch up to him eventually. However, she still decides to part ways with him with a sound “f–k you for now”.

So yes, we have to also conclude that the vocalist has genuinely grown to hate the addressee. But reading in between the lines, it is also somewhat evident that she is disappointed their relationship has come to this.
