“Hrs and Hrs” by Muni Long
“Hrs and Hrs” is, most simply put, a love song. The title is an abbreviation of the phrase ‘hours and hours’, and said expression is, in context, indicative of the vocalist’s enjoyment when spending time with the addressee, her beau. And as put forth most pointedly in the first verse and bridge, said hours are mostly dedicated to the two of them rapporting and making love, and in the latter regards it poetically seems with an emphasis on cunnilingus.
However, the second verse takes us in a different direction, focusing on why the vocalist is so smitten in the first place. That’s because based on her past romantic experience, it’s like n*g*as ain’t serious after bustin’ a nut. And accordingly, Muni “felt like giving up on love”.
But then along came the addressee who, by implication, is a committed lover. So in that regard “Hrs and Hrs” reads like a classic I-was-gloomy-before-I-met-you love song. Indeed this piece is by and large standard romantic poetry, though modernized with slang terms and references to sex.

Muni Long and “Hrs and Hrs”
Muni Long is a singer from Florida who has been hard in the games since 2009, as in having dropped her first album, Jukebox, that very year, under her legal name Priscilla Renea. She is also said to have been one of the very first singers to blow up via YouTube (which led to her being signed by Capitol).
But it wasn’t until Muni dropped of “Hrs and Hrs”, which was released on 19 November 2021, that she scored her first true hit as a vocalist. Said track proved to be her first to appear on the Billboard Hot 100, where it broke the top 30, primarily as a result of TikTok virality.
That said, Muni Long didn’t get around to actually dropping singles until 2020. And prior to that, she actually made more of a name for herself co-writing songs for some of the biggest artists in the game, such as Mariah Carey, Ariana Grade, Rihanna and countless others.
And even though she did so under her aforenoted legal name, Renea recently adopted the Muni Long moniker in the name of making a fresh start as a vocalist.
This track is from Muni Long’s third EP, which is entitled “Public Displays of Affections” (2021) and is a product of Supergiant Records. And to note, within the past couple of years she has also put out two other EPs, her first, “Black Like This” (2020), followed by 2021’s “Nobody Knows”. And besides the aforementioned “Jukebox”, in 2018 she actually dropped a country album entitled “Coloured”.
