New Rose by Guns N’ Roses

“New Rose” is yet another cover by our boys from GN’R. Originally punked out by The Damned in the late ’70s, Guns N’ Roses put their spin on it in their punk cover album, “The Spaghetti Incident?” in 1993. Duff McKagan takes the vocal lead on this one, and his raw and gritty voice gives the track a fresh yet nostalgic energy.

It’s a fast-paced, hard-hitting, classic punk rock song that talks about new love in a cynical, somewhat disillusioned way. Not a chart-topper, but it surely finds its place in the punk-rock heart of fans who dig both original and the cover.
