“Dead Horse” by Guns N’ Roses
“Dead Horse” kicks off with Axl and an acoustic guitar, a bit soft and melodic, then bam! The electric guitars hit and we’re off into a different vibe. It has that mix of vulnerability and toughness that GNR always seemed to balance so well. The song talks about realizing you’re stuck in a bad situation and deciding to break free from it.
It’s introspective but also, in classic GNR style, doesn’t wallow in self-pity. The sing-along “na na na” part towards the end just lifts the whole track and makes it weirdly uplifting, considering the themes, ya know?
