“Back” by Jeezy (ft. Yo Gotti)
The title of this song is based on the assertion that the featured artists wear the ‘hoods on their backs. That’s a fancy way of saying that they keep it gangsta wherever they go and no matter what. And for the most part the lyrics throughout are meant to buttress those ideas. Also the title of the song may be a reference to the fact that Jeezy retired from the rap game but now is “back”. And he more or less implies as much at the end of the first verse.
Yo Gotti and Jeezy, the two vocalists as well as writers of this song, have collaborated on a number of tracks prior to this one.
“Back” came out on 2 October 2020. It is part of a comeback album Jeezy is about to drop entitled “The Recession 2”.
