“Le Grind” by Prince
What it looks like Prince is advocating here (“Le Grind”) is the act of dirty dancing – or ‘grinding’ as such is often referred to in a musical context. And yes, the Purple One could get quite freaky when he wanted to.
So by the time we get to the third verse for instance, he goes about seducing a “pretty mama” in the house, one who is apparently there with her boyfriend, with the goal of ‘getting her naked’. But for the most part, outside of being an encouragement to dance, this song serves the purpose of biggin’ up how effective the vocalist and his crew are at creating such songs.

As the story goes, this song was recorded at Sheila E.’s 29th birthday party. Sheila E. is another musician who ran hard with Prince (1958-2016) back in the day, and she did provide backup vocals to “Le Grind”.
Warner Bros. released this song as the opening track on Prince’s “The Black Album” on 22 November 1994. And “Le Grind” was written and produced exclusively by the vocalist/multi-instrumentalist.
