“Amazed” by Lonestar

Two of the co-writers of “Amazed” were in fact falling in love when they penned it. And likewise, what we’re dealing with are lyrics which buttress the vocalist’s strong romantic affection for the addressee.

As with fresh romance, this reads like one of those situations where “everything little thing” about his significant other fascinates the narrator. Or put differently, he is ‘amazed by her’, as stated in the chorus.  And he is idealizing the two of them remaining together “forever and ever”.

March 22nd, 1999 was the date Lonestar officially release “Amazed”. It was actually the first single to be released from their “Lonely Grill” album.

Success of “Amazed”

Lonestar scored a number 1 on multiple Billboard charts in the United States, including the highly important Hot 100. The song has so far sold over 2 million units in America alone.

In UK, “Amazed” succeeded in reaching a peak position of number 21. It also performed well in other prominent music markets such as in Canada and Ireland, where it reached number 7 and 2, respectively.

At the 2000 Academy of Country Music Awards, “Amazed” took home the Single of the Year award.

Lonestar’s “Lonely Grill” Album

“Lonely Grill” is an album by American group, Lonestar. It was released on 1st June of 1999. Bob Wright, Sam Ramage and Dann Huff have been credited with its production.

BNA Records released “Lonely Grill” as the group’s third studio album. The album was recorded without John Rich, a prominent member of the band. He was their second lead vocalist. John left the band in 1998 to chase a solo career on the same record label.

The album received a 3x Platinum certification from the RIAA in the US for selling over three million copies.

It peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 in Canada. It produced just two singles. The first of these singles was “Amazed”. The second was “Smile”.
