“Avalon of the Heart” by Van Morrison

Van Morrison’s “Avalon of the Heart” talks about the isle of Avalon based on the Arthur legend which is thought to be in Somerset, England. According to the legend, Avalon happens to be the place where the Excalibur, Arthur’s sword, was forged.

The writer implies throughout the song that he is going to make a new start in his life while likening it to the experience of visiting this place. He references the enchanted veil which symbolizes how one has to uncover certain hidden truths of life by finding one’s way through this veil.
