“Ayo Technology” by 50 Cent (ft. Justin Timberlake and Timberland)

50 Cent and Justin Timberlake’s “Ayo Technology” is based on the vocalist(s) lusting after a woman who is basically a night club dancer. The setting reads as if Fif is situated in a strip club, watching her dance. However, all lyrics considered, he can also be said to be watching her remotely, i.e. via a video on the internet. Indeed the title of this song alludes to the idea of the narrator admiring this woman from afar, even using “technology” to do so

But more to the point is that he wants to actually get physical with her. Basically, he is calling for a face-to-face interaction with the lady. And the reason he’s doing this is because his desire for her has reached the point where it can no longer be satiated through viewing alone.

“Ayo! I’m tired of using technology”
