“Believe It” PartyNextDoor & Rihanna

“Believe It” is the title of a collaboration between Canadian singer PartyNextDoor and American-Barbadian singer Rihanna. The song’s lyrics are centered on a romantic union between the two narrators (Rihanna and PARTY). PARTY has one primary goal (which is to move their relationship from strength to strength).

From the first verse it is abundantly clear that PARTY messed up at some point. He did something to hurt Rihanna and is now asking for her forgiveness. But while what it is he did isn’t really made clear, it is likely he deceived her. Owing to this, he devotes the bulk of the lyrics to make her believe how true his love for her is and that he wouldn’t hurt her again. And apparently that’s exactly what Rihanna also wants him to do. Hence the following lyrics:

Is “Believe It” the first collaboration between Rihanna and PARTYNEXTDOOR?

Technically this isn’t their first collabo. PARTYNEXTDOOR co-wrote a number of songs (including “Work“) that appeared on Rihanna’s “Anti” album (which came out in 2016). He also co-wrote “Wild Thoughts” by DJ Khaled (which also featured Rihanna).
