“Eyes on You” by Chase Rice

This song is based on the singer’s infatuation with his girlfriend. Or as the lyrics relay it, he is so entranced by her ambiance that regardless of the venue, his ‘eyes are on her’. And he presents a few challenging scenarios to make the listener privy to just how much he means this.

For instance, they have traveled throughout the United States as well as visiting key Western European cities – but still focuses his eyes on her. They visited the California coast, greeted with “cliffs by the sea”, a beautiful “sunset” and a lovely “moon”, yet his attention was transfixed on her the whole time. In fact all those natural wonders paled in comparison to what he really wanted to see.

Then they find themselves at one of the most-exciting events in the world – the dropping of the Times Square Ball to usher in the New Year. However, he cannot even recall the exact year that was, because once again he was transfixed on her.

Thus through these lyrics, Chase Rice does a hit job of relaying the overall sentiment of the song, which is “no matter where” he may find himself with this lady, no matter the scenario, his eyes are reserved exclusively for her.
