“It’s a Beautiful Day” by Rushawn & Trinix

The lyrics of this song were actually derived from a 2014 track titled “Beautiful Day” by Jermaine Edwards, a Jamaican singer/songwriter who is recognized primarily as a gospel artist. So accordingly, both the original and the “It’s a Beautiful Day” remix basically serve as praise songs.

The latter is what is referred to as a songified effort. What that means is you have a musician – in this case Trinix – who takes an audio that was not intended to be a song (per se, in this instance) and then transforms it into one, i.e. remixing the vocals and placing them harmoniously on top of an instrumental. 

In some cases, such as with “It’s Corn” – another well-received songified effort that came out in 2022 – there may be a relatively-generous amount of wording contained therein. Meanwhile, others may be more along the lines of a club song, if you will, where certain select lines are repeated throughout. And such is the case with Trinix’s version of “It’s a Beautiful Day”.

As such, the Jermaine Edwards’ original is a lot wordier than this piece we’re looking at today. But the segment of the song that has been remixed by Trinix is derived from the original’s chorus and accordingly captures its thesis sentiment. And what’s being asserted by the vocalist in both cases is his resolve to perceive the current day as a “beautiful” one. In other words, he understands that in life, there is both “sunshine” and “rain”, i.e. “joy” and “pain”. But no matter the circumstance the day brings, he is inclined to praise the Lord nonetheless.

Who sings “It’s a Beautiful Day”?

The vocalist on this piece is one Rushawn Ewears. As of early 2023, Rushawn doesn’t appear to be a professional musician at all but is or was aspiring to be one when these vocals were recorded. They were done so by what appears to be an amateur filmographer while Rushawn was attending Top Hill Primary School, which is found in a part of Jamaica known as St. Elizabeth.  

When this recording was made, he was 10 years of age. And it has been noted that as of his rendition of “It’s a Beautiful Day” blowing up as of January 2023, he is at this time 16 years old.

Trinix

Trinix is a pair of producers, Loïs Serre and Josh Chergui, hailing from France. Their YouTube channel, as of early January 2023, has about 200,000 subscribers.

Release of “It’s a Beautiful Day”

It does not appear that this is an official remix of the Jermaine Edwards’ original. As such, Rushawn and Trinix’s “It’s a Beautiful Day” doesn’t currently have a formal release date to speak of. But to note, it appears to have been originally uploaded onto YouTube on 17 December 2022. And as of this writing, approximately three weeks later, said video has garnered approximately 4,500,000  pageviews.

Around the same time The Kiffness, a musician from South Africa who came out with his own remix of “It’s Beautiful Day” featuring Rushawn’s vocals, which was uploaded around the same time and currently has a similar number of views.
