Meaning of “All Out Life” by Slipknot

“All Out Life” is the title of a 2018 single released by the Iowa based heavy metal band Slipknot. The lyrics of “All Out Life” see the Slipknot blasting the current state of the music industry. In blasting the industry in question, the band expresses their frustration and anger at the industry players for embracing modern music and turning their back against “old music”.

In the song’s chorus, the band screams to the world that just because something is old doesn’t mean it is dead. They also add that just because something is new doesn’t mean it is the best. Slipknot believes that the existence of old music paved way for new music.

The band’s frontman Corey Taylor added more flesh to the statements above. According to him, this single was written to do two major things:

  1. The first one is to unite people of all walks of life.
  2. The second is to remind the world that it is wrong to discard music and artists of the past.

He ended his statement with some deep words. In his conclusion, he said “it’s not the date on the music” that matters but rather its ability to live long. In another interview the band had with Metal Sucks, Corey expressed his disdain on the idea that no music is good unless it was released “10 minutes ago”. To him, that is a “toxic idea” – an idea that greatly bothers him. He went on to advise the music industry not to turn its back on the people who made it possible for new music to exist.

  • The song’s lead vocals are handled by lead singer Corey Taylor. Fellow members Shawn “Clown” Crahan and Chris Fehn provided the backing vocals.
  • Upon its release in October 2018, this track became Slipknot’s single of 2018. Additionally, it became the band’s first song in about 4 years.

    Actually, this song is not supposed to even be on the new album and was just a one-off.

      Are you serious? The chorus recite the name of album, the reason Is not been included on the new album Is obviously about legal issues with Chris fehn
