“Never Walk Away” by Journey
The title of this song (“Never Walk Away”), as utilized in the chorus, serves as a word of instruction to the featured couple. Theirs, we can say, is something like the quintessential young yet true love, i.e. the two being thoroughly smitten, making commitments accordingly and then later on encountering serious tests of faith in that regard.
So as it currently stands, the situation reads as if both parties involved have their respective reasons for wanting to bounce. But Journey ain’t on it like that and as such are advising them otherwise. And as the story progresses, it is revealed that this couple decided to stick it out and went on to realize “a brand new day” in their relationship.
Journey and “Never Walk Away”
Journey, an act that is nearly 50 years old as of this writing, is one of the premiere rock bands of 1980s’ America. They’re still around into the 21st century though not going multi-platinum, as was their standard back then.
Throughout its years of its existence, Journey has been fronted by Neal Schon. And he is a co-writer of “Never Walk Away” alongside Jeremey Hunsicker and one of Schon’s bandmates, Jonathan Cain.
This is the opening track on “Revelation”, Journey’s album which came out on 3 June 2008.
The label that handled the release of the LP in the band’s homeland of the United States was Nomota LLC, an entity founded by Neal Schon.
This piece, along with “Where Did I Lose Your Love”, which is another song to be found on “Revelation”, are what Arnel Pineda, who has been the band lead’s vocalist since 2007, auditioned with to secure the job.
