“Saviour II” by Black Veil Brides

The first Saviour, which Black Veil Brides came out with over a decade ago, is a song which Andy Six described “as a love letter” to their fanbase. The part two of this song (“Saviour II”) follows along a similar vein but more specifically is designed to emotionally cater to some of the band’s younger fans who, once again according to Andy, “are really going through some stuff”.

In other words, some of these individuals reveal their innermost turmoil to these musicians. And in turn, Black Veil Brides wanted to drop a song to, in the very least, show that they care – even if Biersack understands that ultimately, there really is only so much you can do via the issuance of a track.

So with that in mind, what this piece centers on is the vocalist empathizing with the addressee. Or as presented, Andy is akin to an artist who is willing to sacrifice his own wellbeing in the name of identifying with despondent fans.

The main reason he’s able to relate is because, as inferred, his own upbringing was very much less-than-ideal. But that aspect of his history is something that he has learned to suppress in the name of being a professional musician.

The Conclusion

So, this song is pretty deep yet at the same time, still understandable. Andy Six is implying that he’s doing his best in the name of being an artist who’s actually serviceable to his fanbase, and doing so requires him to at times “wear a mask” and behave “like a court jester”, i.e. frivolous, if you will. But in this piece, he is also letting his young listeners know that underneath it all, he’s very much in tune with what they’re going through in the world.

Black Veil Brides, "Saviour II" Lyrics

Black Veil Brides

Black Veil Brides is a band from Hollywood that appears to be into some extreme-metal music. This act has been around since 2006, from then up until now being fronted by lead singer Andy Biersack (aka Andy Six, though he seems to have dropped that moniker awhile back).

Their discography consists of six studio albums, the most recent (as of this writing) being 2021’s “The Phantom Tomorrow”.

“Saviour II”

“Saviour II”, which was released on 6 September 2022, is the lead single from an EP titled “The Mourning”. To note, the original “Saviour” was featured on the group’s sophomore studio LP, which was 2011’s “Set the World on Fire”.

This song, which was put out by Sumerian Records, was written by Jinxx, who is the rhythm guitarist for the Black Veil Brides.

FYI, at this time, besides for Jinxx and Biersack, the band is rounded out by lead guitarist Jake Pitts, bassist Lonny Eagleton and drummer CC Coma.
