“Say Hello” by Deep Dish

The general idea upon which Deep Dish’s “Say Hello” is based is simple enough in its lyrical presentation. And what the vocalist is basically saying is that luck, or let’s say chance, is unpredictable.

Or stated otherwise, a golden opportunity can emerge at any time. However, it is not going to “say hello” while ‘walking by’. 

So it is arguable that what is being put forth, comprehensively, is a notion like opportunities having to be seized while ripe, even if they materialize unexpectedly, as in fact they often do.

Was “Say Hello” a single release?

Yes. “Say Hello” was a single released from the group’s “George Is On” album. Deep Dish officially dropped this tune on July 4th of 2005.

Writing and Production

The song was written by the members of the group in collaboration with Louise Anousheh Khalifi. Deep Dish also took care of all the production duties of the song.

Grammy Honors

“Say Hello” earned a nomination for the award “Best Dance Recording” at the 48th edition of the Annual Grammy Awards in 2006. It lost the award to “Galvanize” performed by The Chemical Brothers and Q-Tip. During the ceremony, the following songs also lost to “Galvanize”:

The “George Is On” Album

American music duo, Deep Dish, released the house music song, Say Hello, in 2005 as part of their second album, George Is On. American singer, Anousheh Khalili, provided vocals on the song.  

Thrive Records, Positiva Records, and EMI group limited recorded George Is On and released it on July 12, 2005.

Deep Dish wrote all the songs of the album and had features from Anousheh Khalili and Stevie Nicks.

Upon its release, it received high scores and good comments from many fans and music critics worldwide. AllMusic, after they reviewed the album, scored it as a 3.5 out of 5-star rating. 

The album had high commercial success and recognition worldwide. It ranked at number three on Billboard’s Top Dance album chart, peaked at number twenty-eight on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, and reached number three on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart. It also peaked at number fifty-four on the UK Albums chart (OCC).

In addition, it appeared in the top seventy positions of the Australian, Dutch and Irish Albums chart.

The third single on the album, Flash dance, was included in Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart, and the eighth single, Dreams, peaked at the third position on the UK singles chart. Say Hello, which is the second single on the album, topped the Billboard dance chart.
