So basically what we have with this tune is a rich dude introducing himself to a lady and asking her out. And despite the fact that he implies that he’s a playa, he is still so smitten by her that he wants to make her his main squeeze. So yes this is in fact a love song, even if the singer and addressee’s attraction to each other is based on respectively their wealth and looks.
