“You Say” by Lauren Daigle
As with most Christian hits, “You Say” is based on popular ideologies associated with the religion. In this case the addressee of the song, i.e. the titular “You”, would be God Himself. And the aforementioned idea which lies at the center of the tune is His unfailing love.
And to put this point across, Lauren Daigle premises the featured narrative on her own inadequacies. In other words, there are times when she feels like she’s not measuring up. This can be the result of her own negative inner voices, but trying to identify the source of these feelings is more or less beside the point.
Rather what the focus is on is that no matter what she may be going through, God is the constant who reinforces her strength and sense of self-worth. That is to say that the fact that He has declared her a cherished, loved being enables her to find comfort and resilience even when outside of that she may be feeling like the pits. Or, as is illustrated in the second verse, she considers God’s opinion to be superior to her own. Additionally, she is asserting that even when her inner resolve fails, God’s strengthening is constant.
So conclusively, as the title suggest, Lauren is more inclined to tune her mind into what God ‘says’ as opposed to her own personal frame of thought.

Get an education and study Critical Thinking before you post.
Sandy,
I completely agree with you. God is so good.
Sandy, God knows what’s in your heart and what you’re trying to say. All praises to God! Yes I agree with you.
Unlike Laura, who critiqued your post, God doesn’t care whether or not you have “an education and study Critical Thinking before you post.”
Amen.
There is a Laura in every crowd, and their behavior is a cry for help, for someone to listen, care, someone that will try to help. Kind people, like you. Pray for Laura, she needs Jesus’s love and mercy. God bless to all. Be well.
I like this and I love you Lauren Daigle, you are my role model!
Love love love You Say. The song and your voice reminds me of who’s I am and who anchors me every second of every day.
I didn’t know this song was about God but it makes sense. I am a mother whose adult sons have abandoned because I know the agenda behind C19, NWO, etc. I feel as though I will never measure up to the kind of mother my sons now want 🙁
I too thought as you did that it was about personal failure to love ones only to realize that it was sung to God.
Loved this song,I play it on my piano all the time at home and it really speaks to me
