“Angry Again” by Megadeth

Dave Mustaine not only sings “Angry Again”, but he also wrote it. And he did so during an extremely-frustrating time in his life. For he was pissed off at his musical coworkers on all different levels. Moreover he had just come out of a drug rehabilitation program which he felt was overly-judgmental. And then boom, he’s right back in the studio recording a new track. So he let the anger he was feeling at the moment out onto this song.

And whereas it is easy to ascertain that the vocalist is in fact “angry again”, honestly the lyrics of this track are quite complex. But ultimately, what they lend to is the idea that the singer is so heated that he feels as if these emotions are tearing him apart. Moreover, he is under the impression that he will remain feeling this way at least into the foreseeable future. Simply put, he is caught in a cycle of frustration so to speak.

This song is featured on the Original Motion Picture soundtrack of the 1993 Arnold Schwarzenegger cult classic “Last Action Hero“. In fact it was recorded specifically for that purpose. As such, it is featured on a few of Megadeth’s compilation albums but none of their actual studio albums.

The track went on to be nominated for a Grammy Award in 1993.

“Angry Again” was exclusively written by Dave Mustaine, the leader of Megadeth.  According to the story behind the tune, he penned it in a single day. And this was right after he was released from a less-than-satisfactory drug rehab experience.

Well-traveled music video filmography Wayne Isham directed the official visual to “Angry Again”.

This track was originally released by Columbia Records.
