Ann Marie

Ann Marie is an R&B singer from Chi-town, USA. She was discovered in 2017 by a former Cash Money Records’ artist by the name of Mikkey Halsted. He promptly got her into the music industry, and she became formally active that very year.

A couple of years later she dropped a single, “Secret” (featuring YK Osiris), which really put her on the map, as it reached number 22 on Billboard’s R&B Songs chart. Indeed 2019 was a major era in her life, as during that year she also signed with the ever-powerful Interscope Records. Additionally Ann Marie headlined her first tour, entitled The Tripolar Tour, in 2019.

Shortly thereafter her first project under Interscope and debut EP overall, “Pretty Psycho” (2019), came out. Prior to that she had released three mixtapes as an independent artist.

Being born in 1995, of course Ann Marie was influenced by the popular R&B artists of that period such as TLC, Xscape, SWV and the late Aaliyah. In fact she learned to sing by reciting, at her uncle’s encouragement, Whitney Houston’s classic piece “My Love Is Your Love” (1998) as a child.

In May of 2020 (during the height of the coronavirus pandemic), she released the single “Mind Games“.
