“Bucket List” by Mitchell Tenpenny

A bucket list is a colloquial term that has become popular in recent years. And what it actually means literally is a listing of things a person puts together that he or she wants to accomplish before passing away. But in terms of the lyrics of this song, said goals Mitchell Tenpenny has set for himself really don’t have to do with anything physical or material.  Rather he has resolved to live life to its fullest, more in an inner and interpersonal sense, while he has the opportunity to do so. 

He does not want to die with any regrets, especially from an emotional standpoint. And apparently he has come to such a conclusion after at one time being immature yet having his heart broken in such a life-changing manner.

This track was released on New Year’s Day, 2021. And whereas it was written before 2020’s coronavirus pandemic, Tenpenny did state that said event lent to it eventually being released.

The music video to this track features the singer touring Arizona. And apparently the sites he does find himself visiting are in fulfillment of his own personal bucket list.
