“I Want It All” by Duncan Laurence
When Duncan Laurence puts forth that he ‘wants it all’, all lyrics considered that’s a poetic way of stating his desire for the addressee to give him her heart in full.
To note, it is understood that Laurence is bisexual and that his current significant other is likewise a guy. But for the sake of readability, we will refer to the addressee using female pronouns. In the chorus, he does refer to this person as “babe”, which does make it sound like it may be a woman.
But in any event, Duncan is coming off as a penitent and needy lover. He knows that he’s “made a few mistakes” in this relationship but by the looks of things is intent on not replicating them. Also, the underlying sentiment behind this piece revolves around the singer having decided to make a conscientious effort to live life more fully while the time is ripe. And the way he sees it, part and parcel of doing so would involve having the addressee by his side.
So what he’s encouraging her to do is ‘love him like no one has loved him before’, i.e. the addressee giving Duncan her “all”, as the vocalist has apparently reasoned that she is akin to his soulmate.
So more simply put, this is a love song in which the singer is telling the apple of his eye something like she shouldn’t be afraid to wholeheartedly submit to his advances. She should have absolutely no fear because he understands that everything isn’t always gravy but actually “want(s) the good and the bad, the highs and lows” that come along with her hand.

Duncan Laurence is a singer from the Netherlands who, as of the dropping of “I Want It All” on 25 November 2022, is 28 years old.
He made a name for himself by winning the Eurovision Song Contest, a competition that is very-popular in his part of the globe, in 2019 with a song titled “Arcade”. Then beyond that, said track proved to be one of those Eurovision winners that actually went on to experience massive success in the real world.
The accomplishments of that outing (Laurence’s debut single) firmly established him in the music industry. But that noted the singer has dropped quite a few singles since, none of which have performed even nearly as well as his first.
