“Me + You” by Monica
This is a love song directed at Monica’s significant other. In it, she is asserting that the two of them together is “all (she) needs” in this life. As such, “Me + You” for the most part delineates how she feels about this guy.
The track starts off with Monica bigging up herself on the financial tip, even dubbing herself “Superman” in that regard. However, she acknowledges her lover as “the weight that brings (her) down”. In fact in the second verse, she states that even if she “lost it all today”, she’s cool so long as she can be with her boo. Indeed as the chorus points out, when she is with him, she basically forgets about the outside world. And as can be deemed from the bridge, one aspect of their relationship she really enjoys is the intimate moments in the bedroom, though she states this in the classiest way possible.
Ultimately what this track boils down to is that Monica’s man is her “everything”, as he fulfills her wants and her love.
