Meaning of “The Punisher” by Eric B. & Rakim
Eric B. and Rakim’s “The Punisher” is a song that is replete with violent and macabre lyricism. But that said, Rakim is a traditional, old school rap artist, and to some degree this song harps back to a day when rappers boasted their formidability by pointing to their lyrical skills rather than implying that they’d actually hurt someone.
