“Pesadilla” by Camilo

Camilo’s “Pesadilla” is based on a happenstance that some readers have likely experienced in the real life. And that is when you have a dream or “nightmare” that some other dude is loving up on your significant other. And whereas upon awakening the vocalist realizes that what he witnessed in his slumber was not real, still the whole vision that such could actually happen has greatly affected him.

Most importantly, it has made Camilo even more appreciative that his lover, the addressee, is in fact loyal. And regarding this aforementioned dream guy, the vocalist is looking forward to falling asleep and meeting him once again. His goal is to throw in his face the fact that ‘no one can take his baby away from him’.

So this is a slightly confusing celebration of true love. And what’s perplexing about it is that during the early goings, the dream guy is depicted as successfully making moves of Camilo’s girl. But later, the vocalist rather asserts that said imaginary figure is unable to take her away, even though he has already more or less proven an ability to do so earlier.

However, that narrative’s inconsistency is understandable given the incoherent nature of dreams.

All in all

Ultimately, the point being put forth is that a dream the addressee was being seduced away from him has made the vocalist, in real life, cherish their relationship all the more.
