“Save the World” by Swedish House Mafia (ft. John Martin)

The title of this song (“Save the World”) serves as a metaphor, pointing to the vocalist’s resolve to combat mass depression, if you will. And being that the artist at hand does in fact specialize in house music, then of course part of said solution would be to get the party jumping.

But there is more to this piece, as it is also calling on listeners not to give up on their dreams. Also, as such globally-minded dance tunes often tend to go, the practice of loving one another is also being espoused. So it can be said that from Swedish House Mafia’s perspective, the formula to ‘saving the world’ would consist primarily of two elements, which are adopting a joyful disposition – made more possible via dancing and all-night partying of course – and kindness.

EMI, Virgin Records, and Astralwerks jointly released the album internationally on October 22, 2012.

  • UK Compilation Albums chart (OCC)

It has sold over 500,000 copies of unit sales in Europe and has received a platinum certification from BPI (UK) and GLF (Sweden). In addition, it has also received a gold certification from ARIA (Australia).

Its tenth track, Save the World, gave the album a lot of recognition after being nominated for Best Dance Recording song during the 54th Grammy Awards ceremony.
