“You’re Welcome” is a song performed by American actor and former full-time professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson (best known as The Rock). This tune is from the popular 2016 Disney animated musical adventure film Moana. The film stars such famous names as Dwayne Johnson, Auliʻi Cravalho and Nicole Scherzinger.

In Moana, Johnson plays the character Maui. Maui is a demigod who accompanies Moano (Auliʻi Cravalho) on her journey to bring back the heart of the goddess Te Fiti.

  • The tune was written by multiple award-winning American composer Lin-Manuel Miranda alongside two other songwriters. These writers are: American film soundtrack composer Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa’I. The latter is  best known for being the founder of the Oceanic band Te Vaka.
  • The production of this tune was handled by all of its writers alongside music producers Marlon Espino and Andrew Page.
  • According to Miranda, while writing this song, The Rock was one of the few people he had on his mind to perform it.
  • The song is one of the dozens of songs on Moana: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (the soundtrack to the film Moana). The album was so successful it peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200.
  • “You’re Welcome” marked The Rock’s debut as a singer. According to The Rock, working on the song gave him “an opportunity to challenge” himself. He also added that being a part of the entire project was one of the best moments of his career.
  • On the US Billboard Hot 100, the track peaked at number 65.
