Aloe Blacc

Aloe Blacc is a vocalist from California who released his first album, “Shine Through”, in 2006. He remained under the radar for a few years, with his breakthrough coming in 2010 with the release of the track “I Need a Dollar“. Said song achieved platinum success in a number of countries. Other hits he became known for including “Wake Me Up” and “SOS“. He collaborated with the late Swedish artist Avicii on both songs. Indeed it can be said his heyday was during the early-2010s. For during that time he received a couple of BRIT Award nominations (2012) in addition to a Grammy nomination in 2015 for his third album, Lift Your Spirit.

Aloe Blacc is also one of those types of artists who also known for collaborating with other musicians. And in that regard he has teamed up with the likes of Nas, Zedd, David Guetta and others.

In addition to being a musician, Aloe Blacc is also recognized as a philanthropist. More specifically, he is involved in an NGO called Malaria No More whose mission is to combat said disease in Africa.

And in terms of his personal life, Blacc married a rapper by the name of Maya Jupiter in 2010.
