Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria is a band which hails from North Yorkshire, England. However interesting to note is that they originally formed in 2006 in the Middle Eastern city of Dubai.

They released their first album, “Stand Up and Scream”, in 2009. And as of 2020 guitarist Ben Bruce, who initiated the formation of Asking Alexandria, is joined by the following:

  • Danny Worsnop (lead vocalist)
  • James Cassells (drums)
  • Cameron Liddell (rhythm guitar)
  • Sam Bettley (bass)

Throughout the years a few members also departed, most notably bassist Joe Lancaster in 2009 and vocalist Denis Stoff in 2016.

Between 2009 and 2020, Asking Alexandria has released six studio albums, one live album, one remix album and two EPs. And they also dropped a few hits songs. Amongst them are 2009’s “The Final Episode” and 2010’s “Not the Average American”, both of which were certified gold by the RIAA. There’s also 2020’s “House on Fire“.

 And their sophomore album, “Reckless & Relentless” (2011), took home a 2012 Independent Music Award in the category of Best Metal/Hardcore Album. Indeed the genre of music they are most often classified under is called metalcore. However Asking Alexandria are known to be a multi-faceted rock band, also specializing in heavy metal and hard rock.
