“Blue” by V (BTS)
In the intro and first verse of the song titled “Blue” sung by V, the lyrics play around with the repetition of the phrase “on and on and on”. This could represent something continuous or unending, possibly alluding to his feelings or a situation.
V then moves to talk about showing something new through different colors, which might be symbolic of different emotions or experiences. The use of vibrant colors like green, yellow, and red, and then settling on “blue,” seems to highlight a range of feelings with a focus on feeling “blue,” a term often used to describe feeling sad or down.
Towards the end of the verse, he even mentions borrowing stars from the moon to see the person but points out that the person is still “blue”. This possibly signifies that despite his efforts, the person remains sad or unimpressed.

The chorus and post-chorus echo with the repeated word “blue” and “on and on and on”, reinforcing the depth of his feelings and the seemingly endless cycle of emotions. It’s like a call and response with his emotions, a chorus of longing and an invitation to keep going “on and on” maybe towards something better.
When was “Blue” released?
It came out via BIGHIT MUSIC on September 8, 2023 alongside its album (“Layover”). “Layover” is actually V’s maiden studio album.
I disagree with this analysis, which feels fairly euro & heterocentric. Taehyung saw a Saju fortune teller with his partner and was told that he is all fire (red) and needs more water (blue). His partner was told that he’s all blue (water) and needs fire. The other colors are refering to his openness to loving that person, whatever form that person comes in – gay, bi, etc. He’s shared Cigarettes After Sex’s song “Sweet” multiple times and I think this is his version of that love song. He’s feeling relief now that they’re able to be more open about their relationship, have matured and become so comfortable with each other. We all know that they’ve recently had quite a bit of time off and spent it together. We know how hard 2017/2018 was for them and how many times they were separated, exhausted, sick or worried about their relationship. He also talks about that person and situation on Suchwita, as well as every other live, interview and article he’s in. “It’s sinking me too” doesn’t necessarily refer to a negative thing… love also sinks us. Knowledge sinks in. If you ask me, the “on and on and on” is referring to sex, love, intimacy and his desire for it to last forever. This is his version of Seven
