In this song (“Boy”), the narrator stresses on becoming the lover of a particular girl by all means. He expresses his admiration for this girl by calling her beautiful. He further describes her as a special treasure which could signify how he wants to possess her as his own.

He makes his intentions of becoming this girl’s lover obvious throughout the song. He even suggests that he can make her happy because he will do anything for her. He then implies that he is actually addicted to her which also indicates his obsessive desire for this girl. It is this desire that pushes him to think that he is definitely going to be this girl’s lover in the long run.
