“MY TREASURE” by TREASURE

The lyrics of Treasure’s “My Treasure” song read sort of like the type of ‘put on a happy face’ tracks we’ve come to expect from male K-pop artists. Perhaps it is also premised in the harsh reality of the coronavirus pandemic, as we see the singer himself is caught up in the type of mood where he “wants to go back to the good times”. 

But by and large, it appears as if the boys are singing to a female addressee, i.e. a romantic interest. And on top of encouraging her, once again, to cheer up, he is also assuring her there’s a brighter day in the future for both of them, together. So the titular “treasure” of the vocalist(s) would actually be said lady. And this is also one of the types of songs in which the singer puts forth his confidence in personally getting through these bad times, so long as the addressee stays by his side.

When was “My Treasure” released?

This track is from “The First Step: Treasure Effect”, which is the name of the first full-length album Treasure has ever released. And they first teased the project in late December, 2020.

Treasure is a boy band from South Korea who despite having a decades’ long history only officially formed in 2020. As of the release of this track, on 11 January 2021, the crew is 12-members’ deep, most of them being teenagers.

Yes. Three of the band’s members authored it. The trio co-wrote this song with two other songwriter – Min Yeon Jae and BigTone.
