“Cliff Hanger” by Action Bronson
“Cliff Hanger” is probably a reference to the classic movie titled “Cliffhanger”, where a team goes out to rescue a friend and his girlfriend. In the course of doing that, they lost the girl, and his boyfriend blamed his friends for the death of his lover. Linking it to this song, it can be argued that Action Bronson was hitting back at some people around him that he thinks are hypocrites. Bronson makes it clear that he’s ready to face such people, whom he described as “two faces”. He also makes it clear that he’s living a normal life and perhaps having fun, and not ready to mingle with the “cowards” when they show up.
The lyrics of the song also suggest that, the singer might have lost some properties after betting on a number of games. He blamed the misfortunes on some external factors like injuries which has left him with some evil thoughts.
