“Con Calma (Remix)” by Daddy Yankee & Katy Perry (ft. Snow)

This is basically a song in which the two main artists, Katy Perry and Daddy Yankee, take on the roles of potential lovers flirting with each other, albeit in two different languages. And this mutual attraction is for the most part intimately-based. In other words, partaking of “a little mezcal” (a Mexican alcoholic beverage, even though Yankee is Puerto Rican) has Katy “feeling naughty”. Daddy Yankee, on the other hand, is mostly enthralled by her “poom-poom” which. Succinctly put, is a colloquial term for a certain part of the female body, which shan’t be mentioned.

As such, Perry’s main method of attracting Daddy is by ‘letting her body talk for her’ since she is not fluent in Spanish, his native tongue. And she does so effectively, as his lyrics are basically dedicated to admiring her body, specifically the way she dances.

Meanwhile Snow’s verse is dedicated to admiring a “young lady” beyond her physical qualities, as she is also mentioned as being “nice”, “intelligent” and “gentle”.

Overall the entire song, specifically the chorus, is heavily-influenced in sound by Snow’s 1993 hit “Informer”.
