“Hold On To Me” by Sofia Carson

Sofia Carson’s “Hold On To Me” is one of those types of songs in which the singer is addressing an unspecified individual, albeit someone whom the vocalist clearly cares for and can be interpreted as a member of the general public. More to the point, said individual seems to be down on his or her luck or going through some type of lingering depression. 

And that then takes us to the thesis sentiment of the track, which features Carson letting this person know that he or she can “hold on to (her)”. In other words, she is there to serve as a supporter throughout this ordeal. And as a further act of encouragement, she expresses complete confidence the addressee will in fact make it through alright. And the reason Sofia is so sure in that regard is because once again she intends on supporting this person until he or she reaches that point.

“Hold on to Me” was officially released by Hollywood Records on 18 December 2020. It is the third track which Carson, who at the time is known primarily as a Disney actress, put out that year. And at its release, she posted that she wanted to “share one last song” during 2020 with the public, whom she is hoping to “make… smile”.
