Meaning of “Loading” by James Blake

What it is that’s “loading”, i.e. in the process of manifesting, are the vocalist’s “wings”. All lyrics considered, said “wings” would likely be symbolic of something like James being imbued with a free-partying spirit. But as implied, in order to reach that point he must simultaneously be convinced that the addressee is his own, as said individual possesses the wherewithal to “untie those knots”.

It is not specified who said addressee may be. But using our imaginations a bit, it could possibly be James’s significant other, dance partner or perhaps even a personification of thumping music itself.

“Wherever I go
I’m only as good as my mind
Which is only good if you’re mine
Which is only good if you’re mine
Wherever I go
I’m only as good as my mind
Which is only good if you’re mine
Which is only good if you’re mine (Good if you’re mine)”
