“Miss You A Little” by Bryce Vine (ft. lovelytheband)

The chorus/title of this Bryce Vine is centered on the expression “I miss you a little all of the time”. That may read as somewhat of a contradictory statement, but what it ultimately boils down to is the vocalist addressing his ex-girlfriend.

And all lyrics considered, it appears that he has some type of beef with her. Or in the very least, when he communicates with her, he puts up such a front, speaking as if he ‘hates her’ while simultaneously pretending that ‘he is fine’. But in reality, regardless of what issues he may have with her, she’s on his mind constantly.

And whereas he does admittedly miss her, saying that he wants her back may be a bit of a stretch. But that depends on how one interprets the sentiments presented. For instance even though the breakup was a tumultuous one, he ‘doesn’t hate her’ for how it all went down. Moreover in the present she appears to be very much chillin’.

Meanwhile, he does not approve with who she is hanging out with. But even worse, from his perspective, is that whereas she has obviously moved on, he’s still trying to cope with losing her. And he’s marveling at how a relationship that was once so ‘pleasurable’ has now rather become ‘painful’, as if Cupid has turned his back on him.

Conclusive Sentiment of “Miss You A Little”

And it seems that the conclusive sentiment can be found in the bridge. Here the vocalist’s position is like, in the aftermath of the breakup he and the addressee can never simply be friends. So at the end of the day it’s like he wishes the two of them had never hooked up in the first place.

And we would agree with Bryce in that such is a fairly common sentiment as far as failed romances go. Sometimes one partner may be into the other too much to remain associated in a non-romantic capacity afterwards.

And such is conclusively what this song is about. But on a side note, perhaps the reason the two of them have not gotten back together is because the vocalist is too prideful to express his true feelings to her. But at the same time, he never really goes as far as to say that he actually wants her back.
