“No Type” by Rae Sremmurd
At the center of “No Type” is Rae Sremmurd’s assertion that they don’t have “no type”. That’s another way of saying that they don’t choose romantic interests based on their race, height or any particular trait per se. Rather what they are interested in is “bad b***hes”. Or stated differently, as long as the female is attractive in their eyes, then they’re down to get involved with her. And as far as actually going the dating route, they depict themselves not only have access to different women but also the wealth to impress them and to fully enjoy the “bachelor” life.
“No Type” was released on the 15th of September 2014 as the second single from Rae Sremmurd’s maiden album, “SremmLife”. And the labels behind the track are Interscope and EarDrummers Entertainment.
“No Type” was produced by Mike Will Made-It and Rae Sremmurd member Swae Lee. And they also co-wrote the song alongside the other member of the pair, Slim Jxmmi.
The music video was directed by an artist who goes by the name Directed by Max.
“No Type” was a huge hit for the hip-hop duo, appearing on multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100. Here, it reached position 16. Moreover it has been certified quadruple-Platinum in the United States. And the song was also nominated for a BET Hip Hop Award in 2015.
The track also charted in other countries and in the process has been certified Platinum in Denmark and Australia.
