“Roast Yourself Harder” by Gabbie Hanna

Roasting, as a colloquial term, points to the idea of making fun of someone. However, in this case, Gabbie Hanna is actually poking fun of herself. And she had apparently done before as part of a viral internet movement dating back to 2016 called the Roast Yourself Challenge. So now she is back to diss herself again, i.e ‘roast herself harder’. And whereas some of the subject matter of the song is seemingly serious – for instance the singer insinuating that she’s lonely and suffering from low self-esteem – ultimately it is all meant to be taken in jest.

“Roast Yourself Harder” was released on 1 August 2018.  It was a follow-up to a track that Gabbie Hanna came out with earlier that year entitled “Roast Yourself”.

Gabbie wrote “Roast Yourself Harder” all by herself. And the song was produced by Beeks Vybe.

Gabbie Hannah also came out with a video for this song which was directed by Peter Macaluso.
