The man is introduced as a stranger who sees the narrator at a first glance and tries to hit on her. She describes him as someone who knows his game and is not doing this for the very first time. This is why she tells him that he can decide to find another person and not bother about her.

Apparently he’s reading the signs wrongly and is trying to get to her at such a fast pace that the singer tells him to stop because it won’t even work. The singer needs a deeper connection which takes more time and patience, instead of a rushed love affair that will end shortly.

The narrator plainly tells him that he’s crossed the border too quickly. It also seems he must have been trying to win her over by flaunting his wealth, but she quickly retorts that the money doesn’t interest her. All she needs is for him to slow things down completely and allow emotions to set in naturally instead of forcing to have his way.
