To the narrator, her lover is good enough for her for a moment, and doesn’t seem to mean much to her in another moment. She’s aware that her partner gives her the short term pleasure and fulfillment. However, she finds it hard to envision them being together in the long-term.

Having too much of a thing can cause one to either lose interest, want more or it becomes harmful over time. This is the dilemma she’s facing as the feeling that the relationship has gotten stale makes her want to give up. At the same time, she knows that being alone is also quite difficult to handle. Owing to this, she keeps looking for a way to be satisfied in either conditions.

The narrator makes it clearer in the subsequent verse, that the reason for her uncertain thoughts is that she wants a guy who will do more for her than a routine kind of love. In the end, she stresses that she may be getting fed up. And why? Because she doesn’t really believe in the long-term success of the relationship.
