“Ultimatum” by Disclosure (ft. Fatoumata Diawara)

Most simply explained, it would appear that the addressee of “Ultimatum” is a romantic interest of the vocalist’s, someone who is not as interested in her as she is in him. For instance, she evidently wants to marry him yet is under the impression that he is not so inclined. Also, reading between the lines, it seems as if he is in the process of excommunicating her altogether. So what the vocalist is looking for at this point is closure. Simply put, she is waiting for the addressee to tell her forthrightly that he doesn’t want to be with her.
