“We Can Hide Out” by Ofenbach & Portugal. The Man

This song seems to be based on the singer challenging the addressee. He refers to himself and this individual ideally as being a collective, as in what they do is “better” when they “do it together”. And as for the titular phrase “we can hide out”, as in secluding themselves from the world, he appears to use this in a negative connotation, as in something they “won’t” do.  However, this does not prevent him from appealing to this person to “follow (him) to the edge”. And once there, they will “pretend that (they’re) falling”.
